Privacy policy

Last updated: October 10, 2026

1. What this policy covers

This policy describes what personal data is collected when you visit this website or use Theory of Edge (the "Software"), why it is collected, and the rights you have over it.

2. The website

This website is a static page. It does not use advertising trackers and does not set cookies for profiling. Fonts are loaded from Google Fonts and scripts from public content delivery networks (unpkg); those providers receive your IP address and standard request headers when the page loads, under their own privacy terms. The hosting provider keeps standard server logs (IP address, time, requested page, browser) for security and operations.

3. The Software

Theory of Edge runs entirely on your computer. Your market data, your runs, your strategies, your databanks and your portfolios are stored on your machine and are never uploaded to us. The Software does not contain analytics or telemetry.

When licensing is active, the Software may contact a license server to verify that your subscription is valid. That check transmits your license key, a machine identifier derived from your hardware, the Software version and your IP address. Nothing about your data, strategies or trading is transmitted.

4. Subscriptions and payment

When you subscribe, your name, email address and billing details are processed by the payment provider you choose at checkout. We receive your email address, the subscription status and the last four digits of the payment method; we never see or store full card numbers.

5. Why we process this data

6. Retention

Account and billing data are kept for the duration of the subscription and then for as long as accounting law requires. Server logs are kept for a maximum of 12 months. Support correspondence is kept for 24 months after the last exchange.

7. Sharing

We do not sell personal data. It is shared only with the processors needed to run the service: the hosting provider, the payment provider and the email provider, each bound by its own data processing terms.

8. Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, delete or export your personal data, to object to or restrict its processing, and to lodge a complaint with your data protection authority. To exercise these rights, write to the contact address shown on your subscription receipt.

9. Changes

This policy may be updated when the website or the Software changes. The date at the top of this page tells you when it was last revised.

Short version. The Software is local: your data stays on your machine. The website sets no tracking cookies. If you subscribe, we keep the minimum needed to bill you and verify your license.
